Change your app

Add a field, rename something, remove a page, or change what a list shows — by describing the result you want.

Building Updated 2026-10-17

An app is never finished unless you decide it is. Every change starts the same way: open the Agent mode, describe what should be different, and check the result in Preview. The agent repeats the change wherever it is needed, so you do not have to name every page or every list yourself.

Describe the result, not the edit

A request is a description of how the app should end up, not an instruction about where to type. "Show the invoice total in euros, including tax" tells the agent what the finished screen looks like. "Change the currency" leaves it guessing which amounts you mean, where they appear, and whether tax belongs in the total.

The same applies to smaller things. Name the field, the label, and the behaviour you want, and let the agent work out where the change lands.

Common changes

Add a field

Clients should have an email address as well, and the client list should show it.

New fields begin empty, so it helps to say what should happen to the records you already have — "leave the email blank for existing clients" or "set them all to the same value for now".

Rename something

Rename "price" to "sale price" everywhere it appears.

Say "everywhere it appears" when you want the change to be complete. If you only want one screen changed, say which one: "rename it on the invoice screen, but leave the product list as it is".

Remove a page

Remove the About page and take it out of the menu.

Mention the menu as well, or the page may still be listed even though it can no longer be opened. If the page holds information you may want later, say so before removing it — deleting a page can remove the data it showed.

Change what a list shows

The bookings list should show the newest booking first, and each row should show the client's name, the date, and the status.

You can change the order, the columns, which records appear, and how each row reads. For a filter, state the rule in plain words: "only show bookings for this month".

Change one element directly

If a change is limited to a single element on a screen, you can work on it directly. Select Edit mode under the preview, then click the element. The Element mode on the left then shows its controls, grouped as Content, Typography, Layout, Background, Border & Shadow, Motion Effects, Transform, Mask, Responsive, Attributes, and Custom CSS. Clicking an element opens the file it lives in — the file button in the preview toolbar names it — and everything outside that file stays faded while you work. Change how your app looks explains what that means on a page built from several components.

A small menu also opens beside the element. Type what you want into Ask and the agent changes that element; Remix asks for a fresh attempt at it; Delete removes it. When the element is a picture from your app, a wand opens it in the Image Studio.

Keep or throw away your element changes

An element change does not take effect on its own. As you make changes, a bar at the bottom of the left column counts them — it reads Submit 2 changes, for example — and sits next to Discard and Undo. Select Submit to keep them and rebuild the app. Discard puts the element back the way it was and throws the waiting changes away.

If you send a chat message while changes are waiting, a question appears first: "Discard your visual edits?" Select Discard and send to send the message and lose the waiting edits, or cancel and submit them before sending.

To change a single element again later, select it first and then type the request in the chat — the agent then knows which element you mean.

Design changes have their own guide: Change how your app looks.

Check, then publish

Every change appears in Preview as the agent finishes it. Open the affected screen and use it before moving on. When the app is right, publish it from the Publish button above the app so visitors get the new version — see Preview and publish.
